Food poisoning caused by consuming salmonella contaminated products can result in serious gastrointestinal issues, including nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.

The State of California Department of Public Health discovered the salmonella contamination after investigating reports of illnesses linked to the frozen grated coconut. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been made aware of the recall.
