Yet another recall has been announced in a wave of Listeria-prompted recalls in the new year.   The latest 2017 Listeria recall if for Ruth’s Salads products that, according to the South Carolina Agriculture Department, tested positive for Listeria.  This is the second recent recall of Ruth’s Salad products for Listeria, with the previous recall affecting production at Ruth’s Salad’s North Carolina facility in Charlotte.  The Ruth’s Salad products being recalled now are made at the company’s Chester, South Carolina facility – a facility that is now shuttered pending additional review after a thorough cleaning and sanitizing effort.

Among the recalled  products are 7 – 24 ounce packages of Ruth’s Original Pimento Spread, Old Fashion Spread, Jalapeno Spread, Lite Spread, and Ruth’s Cream Cheese with Pineapple-Pecans Spread. Consumers have been warned not to consume any of the product that is labelled with: “Packed by B&H Foods, Inc., Chester, SC”

Anyone who has consumed these products and develops the symptoms of Listeriosis is encouraged to seek medical attention.  Those with product on-hand are encouraged to discard it or return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
