Actualizaciones de la FDA sobre la investigación de Scombrotoxin Intoxicación con pescado.

Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD, una empresa de importación vietnamita emitió un retiro voluntario de sus productos de atún de aleta amarilla el 15 de noviembre de 2019, debido a la posibilidad de que sus productos estén vinculados a 50 enfermedades de Scombrotoxin Intoxicación con pescado . La Scombrotoxin Intoxicación con pescado es causada por comer pescado que tiene altos niveles de histamina, que es el resultado de no ser refrigerado o preservado adecuadamente y comenzar a estropear. La Administración de Alimentos y Medicamentos (FDA), junto con funcionarios estatales probaron múltiples muestras recogidas de Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD y después de analizarlas, muchos productos de atún de aleta amarilla dieron positivo para su descomposición o altos niveles de histamina.

La FDA ofreció una actualización sobre la retirada voluntaria el 26 de diciembre de 2019. En la actualización, la FDA declaró que Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD no ha eliminado eficazmente productos potencialmente dañinos del mercado. Los funcionarios estatales temen que debido a sus esfuerzos insuficientes para eliminar los productos nocivos del uso público, podrían surgir enfermedades adicionales relacionadas con el producto. La FDA ha enumerado las siguientes empresas que importaron atún de Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD para instar a la eliminación de los productos contaminados:

  • Mical Seafood Inc. (Davie, FL)
  • Northern Fisheries LTD. (Little Compton, RI)
  • Alfa International Seafood Inc. (Medley, FL)
  • Aquabest Seafood LLC (Miami, FL)
  • Gamma Seafood Corporation (Medley, FL)
  • DeLuca Fish Company, Inc. (San Pedro, CA)
  • Sym-Pac International Inc. (Corona, CA)
  • Worldwide Seafood Products LLC (Perth Amboy, NJ)

Se ha emitido una advertencia sobre los productos de atún de aleta amarilla a todos los consumidores, restaurantes, minoristas, importadores, proveedores y distribuidores. Los productos de atún de aleta amarilla suministrados por Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD con fecha de producción en 2019 deben desecharse o destruirse lo antes posible. Los consumidores deben preguntar si los productos vendidos o servidos fueron suministrados por Truong Phu Xanh Co., LTD antes de comprarlos o comerlos. El último caso de Scombrotoxin Intoxicación con pescado relacionado con los productos de atún de aleta amarilla se notificó el 24 de noviembre de 2019, pero los consumidores deben permanecer vigilantes hasta nuevo aviso.
