Allergy Alert Issued on Publix Brand Parmesan-Crusted Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillets

On the 8th of February 2021, Ocean Beauty Seafood LLC issued an Allergy Alert on their Publix brand Parmesan-Crusted Alaskan Wild Salmon Fillets due to the undeclared allergen Soy found in the Parmesan-Crusted Alaskan Wild Salmon Fillets. 8,450 12 oz. packages with a UPC number of 41415 30245 7 of Ocean Beauty’s Parmesan-Crusted Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillets have been recalled.

Directly distributed to Publix Supermarkets distribution centers in Florida and Georgia, the affected Parmesan-Crusted Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillets were also distributed to multiple southeast Publix retail stores. The Parmesan-Crusted Alaskan Wild Salmon Fillets with undeclared Soy were distributed between the dates September 18th, 2020 to November 4th, 2020.

A customer of Publix discovered the problem that led to the allergy alert, when Publix Brand Teriyaki Sauced Salmon was found inside of a retail box that was mistakenly labeled as Publix Brand Parmesan-Crusted Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillets. This was followed by further investigation executed by the co-packer, UniSea Cold Storage of Redmond, WA. UniSea Cold Storage declared that the operator of the loading box machine must have mistakenly taken of the Parmesan-Crusted retail boxes instead of the accurate Publix retail boxes.

Ocean Beauty Seafood LLC immediately announced the mistake and declared an allergy alert, which was published with additional information by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), on the 8th of February, 2021. Ocean Beauty Seafood LLC is working closely with the FDA to prevent any and all illnesses resulting from the undeclared allergen Soy in the Publix Brand Parmesan-Crusted Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillets and has been fruitful in their efforts so far.

Consumers are encouraged to either dispose of the affected product or return it at the original purchasing location and receive a full refund, if in ownership of the Publix Brand Parmesan-Crusted Wild Alaskan Salmon Fillets.

Contact Ocean Beauty Seafood LLC for any additional information at 206-286-2566.
