The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) published Stonewall Kitchen’s Recall of their Gluten Free Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Mix due to it potentially containing wheat.  The FDA described the risk, stating: “People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to wheat (which contains gluten) may risk serious allergic reaction if they consume this product from impacted lots listed below.”

The York, Maine-based company, Stonewall Kitchen, shared the following information to help customers identify the recalled products:

“Enjoy By Date: 03-09-2025 & 03-10-2025 (located on the bottom of the box), UPC: 711381313329, Item #: 553429, Packaged in rectangular cardboard box.”

The Stonewall Kitchen’s Gluten Free Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Mix was distributed across the nation to customers throughout retail stores, third-party wholesale customers such as gourmet food shops, department stores, and specialty grocers.

The recall was announced on March 7, 2024, after a customer reported having a reaction to gluten in the product. Stonewall Kitchen shared through the FDA that the cause of the wheat in the gluten free product was likely due to a packaging process error, that mislabeled the Gluten Free Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Mix.

A National Food Poisoning Lawyer, Ron Simon, commented in the situation, “To avoid a potentially life-threatening allergic reaction, individuals with wheat sensitivities or allergies should strictly avoid consumption of Stonewall Kitchen’s Gluten Free Cinnamon Sugar Doughnut Mix; discarding of the product or returning to the location of purchase for a full refund, if in possession of the recalled waffles.”

Customers may contact Stonewall Kitchen for more information regarding the recall or refunds by emailing [email protected], or by calling 800-826-1735, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
