Salmonella potential noted in NutriZone dietary supplements

NutriZone, LLC, based in Houston, Texas, has recalled four different types of dietary supplements after they were found to be potentially contaminated with salmonella. The recalled supplements were sold in Pennsylvania, Oklahoma, Washington, Missouri, Florida, Mississippi, California and Texas.

The recalled dietary supplements are labeled and packaged as follows:

  • Pain Out Maeng Da – 36 capsules per container; Packaging: Pouch; Lot number: 10957
  • Pain Out Thai – 108 capsules per container: Packaging: Bottle; Lot number: 10960-D
  • Pain Out Malay – 324 capsules per container; Packaging: Bottle; Lot number: 10958-I
  • Nirvanio Green Malay – 25 capsules per container; Packaging: Bottle; Lot number: 10958-C

These recalled products can be identified by the lot numbers found on the packaging near the Nutrition Facts Panel.

NutriZone dietary supplements are similar to the many other kratom products that have recently been recalled for potential salmonella contamination. Kratom is a plant consumed for its stimulant effects and as an opioid substitute. The latest count from the outbreak of salmonella includes 91 people who have become ill and 31 people who have been hospitalized as a result of consuming contaminated kratom.

In the case of the NutriZone products, the potential for contamination was noted after routine sampling and testing by the FDA revealed the presence of salmonella.

Consumers are warned to discontinue use of these recalled products. Healthy people infected with salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping, and fever. For more information about NutriZone, kratom, and the salmonella outbreak, contact the food poisoning lawyers at 1-888-335-4901.
