Mondelēz Global LLC: Recall on Cheese Nips Contaminated with Plastic

Mondelēz Global LLC issued a voluntary, nationwide recall on Cheese Nips contaminated with plastic pieces.  The specific batch of Cheese Nips that have been recalled is due to concern of contamination is the 11oz box with the UPC code of 044000 034535 with a “best when used by” dates of May 18th, 19th or 20th 2020.

This batch of Cheese Nips has the possibility of being contaminated with yellow plastic pieces from the dough scraper.

The company, Mondelēz Global LLC, became aware of the issue after noticing the yellow plastic pieces on production equipment. However, there have not been reports of illness or injury from consumption of this product yet.  Consumers are asked to check any box of Cheese Nips in their pantries to see if it is their box is included in the recall.  By checking the UPC code as well as the best used by dates, the consumer can evaluate if their product is a part of the recall.

These consumers whose products are a part of the recall, are advised to discontinue consumption and return the product to the retail store where purchase what made for a full refund.
