Lindt & Sprüngli in Stratham, New Hampshire: Recall on Chocolate Bars Due to Undeclared Allergens

The United States branch of Lindt & Sprüngli,  with manufacturing based in Stratham, New Hampshire, announced a recall on 03/19/2020, with on FDA announcement on 03/20/2020 of Lindt Excellence 85% Cocoa chocolate bars due to undeclared allergens. This error is due to false packaging: another product from the company, Lindt Excellence Dark Caramel Sea Salt bars, were wrapped in the 85% Cocoa packaging. Unlike the 85% Cocoa bars, the Dark Caramel Sea Salt bars contain soy and milk. Thus, the soy and milk allergens are not labeled. Ingesting milk or soy can be deadly for those with an allergy or sensitivity to either allergens. The product was distributed nation wide in a myriad of stores, as well as online. If you have purchased the product with UPC code 3746601645 under Lot Code L5539 with “Best By” date of  11/30/2020, dispose of the product or contact Lindt & Sprüngli for a product voucher at 1-877-695-4638 during business hours of 8 AM- 8 PM EST or  [email protected].
