On the 9th of September, 2023 the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) published the recall of Custom Made Meals, LLC. Bacon-Wrapped BBQ Seasoned Chicken Grillers product. Classified as a ‘High Class-I’ alert, the affected bacon- wrapped jalapeno product has been recalled due to misbranding; containing the allergen milk without declaring the presence of such.

The misbranding mistake was found when Custom Made Meals’ producing establishment was notified by a retail store, after which was shared with the Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).  The Denver, Colorado-based Custom Made Meals LLC. then recalled 1,345 pounds of their Bacon-Wrapped BBQ Seasoned Chicken Grillers product.

The affected Custom Made Meals, LLC. product is incorrectly packaged with the title, “Bacon-Wrapped BBQ Seasoned Chicken Grillers- This savory crowd pleaser features chicken breast seasoned and wrapped in hickory-smoked bacon.” It also contains the Best By Use Date of September 21st, 2023.

According to one National Food Poisoning Lawyer, Dr. Tony Coveny,”…Allergic reactions to milk and milk products often occur rapidly after consumption, with symptoms ranging from fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, swelling of throat, hives or digestive issues. If experiencing these or any other adverse reactions after consumption of food containing allergens such as dairy, individuals should be quick to follow the necessary, medically-recommended responsive steps.”  The Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) is, “…concerned that some product may be in consumers’ refrigerators and/or freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged not to consume them. These products should be thrown away or returned to the place of purchase.”

For more information regarding the High Class-I recall of Custom Made Meals, LLC.’s Bacon-Wrapped BBQ Seasoned Chicken Grillers, customers may contact Custom Made Meals Customer Service at [email protected] or (303) 227-4993.
