Company Announcement

June 4, 2024, New Seasons Market of Portland, Oregon is recalling Strawberry Rhubarb Bakewell Tart, because it contains undeclared almond. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almond run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product.

Strawberry Rhubarb Bakewell Tart was sold at the Bakery and Pastry departments in New Seasons Market stores located in Oregon and Washington from 03/22/24 to 06/03/24. Product has a 5-day shelf life.

Strawberry Rhubarb Bakewell Tart is merchandised in a plastic clamshell container with a black and white New Seasons Market scale label. All best if used by dates are impacted by this recall.

After a staff member consumed the Strawberry Rhubarb Bakewell Tart and had a mild reaction but did not seek medical attention, the manufacturer of the product was notified of this potential allergic reaction. The manufacturer confirmed the product did contain almond flour, but almond was not listed in the product specification. New Seasons Market initiated this recall because the scale label does not declare almond.

There have been no additional reports of adverse reactions to date.

This recall is being made with the knowledge of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Customers who have purchased the product and have an allergy to almonds are urged to dispose of it without consuming.

For a refund, please talk to a manager in any New Seasons Market store. If you have any questions, please contact [email protected], Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm PT.
