Pro Sports E. Coli Recall: Popular Bellevue Fitness Location Recalls Yogurt Bars For Potential E. coli Contamination
A popular work-out facility in Bellevue, Washington, which is associated with two other locations of Pro Sports Club located in Seattle and at Willow Road, has issued a recall. The recall is of Yogurt Peanut Crunch bars it sells at the location. The Pro Sports E. coli recall was prompted after E. Coli was found in SoyNut Butter products, as part of the larger I. M. Healthy recall. In that recall, many of the victims have had to be hospitalized, including cases of hemolytic uremic syndrome, or HUS. According to the recall, the manufacturer of Yogurt Peanut Crunch Bars, which Pro Sports sells, was possibly manufactured with a SoyNut product subject to recall or suspected of possibly carrying E. coli.
The E. coli outbreak related to SoyNut products has been identified as the common E. coli O157:H7, which can be identified in a simple stool culture in most cases. As a Shiga toxin-producing pathogen, it causes intense diarrhea, often accompanied with copias amounts of blood.
Pro Sport Closes Early Today – Reason Unrelated to Recall
The Pro Sport issuing the recall is located at 4455 148th Avenue N.E., in Bellevue, Washington, and offers cross-training, group fitness, and kid care services, among other services. An early closure today is unrelated to the Pro Sports E. coli recall, and is for a previously scheduled repair by Puget Sound Energy. No illness have been identified with the Yogurt Peanut Crunch Bars at this time.
