McDonald’s E. Coli Outbreak: Second Lawsuit Filed, This Time for Nebraska Resident

According to their press release, the law firm of Ron Simon and Associates, alongside Meyers & Flowers, LLC, has filed a second lawsuit against McDonald’s related to an E. coli outbreak. This latest case, initiated on behalf of Clarissa DeBock, was also filed in Cook County, Illinois where McDonald’s is headquartered. The previous victim was Eric Stellar.

Clarissa allegedly fell ill after eating at a Nebraska McDonald’s on September 18, 2024. By September 23, she was experiencing severe symptoms, leading her to seek medical care at Great Plains Health. During her treatment, medical staff noted the presence of E. coli in other patients, raising concerns about a potential outbreak. Clarissa was diagnosed with E. coli O157and is said to be currently recovering under medical supervision.

Onions are currently suspected as the source of the outbreak, prompting Taylor Farms of California to issue a recall for potentially contaminated products. Taylor Farms was not named in the lawsuit, says Tony Coveny, one of the lead attorneys, as the “investigation remains ongoing.”

Ron Simon, representing Clarissa and over fifteen other affected families, stated in the press release, “We will continue to pursue their claims until each family is fully compensated for their losses.”

Note: According to Ron Simon, his firm represents more than 15 families so far, with that number climbing by the hour.

The press release also states that, in order to assist victims, the firm has established an E. Coli Claim Center, reachable at 1-888-335-4901 or via their website.

Ron Simon says he has been a food poisoning lawyer for many years now, and a prominent advocate for food safety, successfully handling thousands of food poisoning cases. He stats that his efforts have led to significant improvements in food safety protocols across major corporations. He has requested that all media inquiries be directed to him at (713) 819-8116 or via email at [email protected].
