FDA releases statement on romaine lettuce contamination The e. coli outbreak that caused 210 illnesses, 96 hospitalizations, and 5 deaths among consumers who had eaten romaine lettuce has come to an end. The last illness onset was reported on August 2, 2018. 30 sick in New Mexico from ground beef The most recent count of food poisoning cases related to contaminated raw beef produced and distributed by JBS Tolleson, Inc., according to the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), is 120 people across 22 states. The CDC has counted one person in New Mexico that has become ill from eating the raw beef products. McCain Foods identified as source of listeria and salmonella McCain Foods has been identified as the supplier of a variety of vegetable products used in food products packaged and sold under multiple brand names across the country that have been recalled. Chicken resistant to antibiotics infects 92 people in 29 states A strain of food poisoning that is resistant to multiple antibiotics has caused 92 people in 29 states to become ill with salmonella linked to raw chicken products. Chicken salad contains recalled corn ingredient Schnucks Markets, based in St. Louis, Missouri, has discovered that chicken salad sold by the store contains a corn ingredient that may be contaminated with listeria monocytogenes and salmonella.
