E. coli outbreak linked to Panera in NJ Consumers in at least four counties in New Jersey have been affected by an e. coli outbreak in the last few weeks. Six people in Hunterdon, Middlesex, Somerset, and Warren counties have become ill from a source that has been potentially identified as a Panera restaurant in Phillipsburg in Warren County. Health officials have not definitely determined that the e. coli illnesses came from the Phillipsburg-based Panera. Mandatory kratom recall ordered by FDA While most recalls are voluntary, even when the contaminated product has made multiple people ill or has even resulted in death, the recent kratom-related outbreak of salmonella contaminated has caused the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to issue a mandatory recall of kratom produced by Triangle Pharmanaturals. Vulto Creamery ordered to shut down after listeria outbreak The source of a 2017 listeria outbreak, Vulto Creamery’s Walton, New York, operations have been shut down by a federal court. The company has been ordered by the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of New York not to manufacture its ready-to-eat aged soft, semi-soft, and hard cheeses until it complies with food safety regulations. Target recalls frozen products for potential contamination Frozen ready-to-eat and not-ready-to-eat meat and poultry products shipped by Target Corporation to a store in Honolulu, Hawaii, have been recalled because of shipping issues that may have exposed the products to bacteria contamination.
