Please be advised that the Hometown Food Company initiated a limited, voluntary retail-level remember on 2 specific lot codes of its Pillsbury® Unbleached All-Purpose 5 lb Flour (UPC 51500-22241)because it could be contaminated with Salmonella. Just Best If Used By Dates APR 19 2020 and APR 20 2020 are affected.

Roughly 12,245 instances of affected Pillsbury® Unbleached All Purpose Flour merchandise were distributed through a limited number of retailers and distributors nationwide.   The sole product a lot affected by the recall are as follows:

Other Best If Used By Dates and Bulk Codes aren’t affected by this recall.

There have been no reports of any disorders related to this recall. Merchandise is being recalled from an abundance of caution. This voluntary recall is being made with the entire understanding of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Salmonella, an organism which can cause severe and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy persons infected with Salmonella often experience fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and stomach pain.

Flour is made from wheat that’s minimally processed. Flour shouldn’t be regarded as a ready-to-eat product. It’s an ingredient for baked, fried, and cooked products, and these heating procedures ensure the protection of flour with appropriate handling. All utensils and surfaces should be properly cleaned after contact with flour or raw dough or batter. Consumers should wash their hands after handling flour or raw dough or batter. Consumers should not eat raw dough or batter made with raw flour. If you believe you became ill from a food containing flour as an ingredient, please call your healthcare provider.

Please check to determine whether you’ve recalled products in your dwelling. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the shop where they were bought. Consumers shouldn’t have the recalled product.
