On the 13th of October, 2023 the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) published Select Custom Solutions’ recall of jay Robb Vanilla Flavored Egg White Protein product due to the hazard of foreign material presence. The recalled Robb brand Vanilla Flavored Egg White Protein has been taken off of shelves due to the discovery of hard plastic bits in the product. There is concern that the presence of the plastic material in the protein product may cause injury, choking or other adverse reactions.

Based in North Palm Beach, Florida, the Jay Robb brand is run by Jay Robb, a ”…peace advocate, bestselling author, spiritual guru, die-hard hippie, seminar host, former fitness club owner, former natural bodybuilder, clinical nutritionist, protein powder magnate, and longevity specialist…” The company sells various flavors and forms of protein products, including the recalled Vanilla Flavored Egg White Protein. Select Customs Solutions clarified in their voluntary recall that while the cause for plastic being found in the Vanilla Flavored Egg White Protein product remains unknown, no other Jay Robb products are affected in this foreign material hazard alert.

For identification, the United States Food & Drug Administration (FDA) shared that the affected product has the full title of “Jay Robb Vanilla Flavored Egg White Protein,” in a white, tight-sealed pouch, weighing 24 ounces. The product contains a Lot code 23080-2C2. The Jay Robb Vanilla Flavored Egg White Protein product bears a mark of the time stamp 09:00 to 12:00. The affected products were distributed online through various retail stores as well as directly from the Jay Robb website.

If in possession of the Select Customs Solutions recalled Jay Robb Vanilla Flavored Egg White Protein powder, customers should either discard the product or look into contacting Select Customs Solutions at the number 1-800-359-2345 or email  [email protected] for information on a potential refund.
