Over 6,000 pounds of ground beef products recalled for e. coli
A St. Petersburg, Florida, meat producer is recalling 6,020 pounds of fresh and frozen ground beef products, as the raw ground beef may be contaminated with e. coli. Ottomanelli Wholesale Meats, Inc., also known as Win Opportunity Knocks, produced the ground beef products from June 18, 2018, through July 11, 2018.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA-FSIS) is investigating the e. coli contamination, which was discovered when FSIS was notified that the product was tested by the company as part of their sample program and found to be positive for e. coli.
The following products have been recalled:
- 5-lb boxes of (20/4oz.) frozen, raw “Packers Plus Patties” with “Approved JUN 18 2018” through “Approved JUL 11 2018”

- 10 lb. bulk bag of fresh raw “Beef Patty Mix Ottomanelli Wholesale Meats Inc.” with “Approved JUN 18 2018” through “Approved JUL 11 2018”
