ShopRite in Vineland, New Jersey Recall on Ground Beef Due to Metal Pieces

ShopRite of Delsea in Vineland, New Jersey issued a voluntary recall on prepackaged ground beef products that may have become contaminated with metal fragments.  The products included in the recall were made at one particular store and intended for sale by March 30, 2020.  The recall is specific to the ShopRite in Delsea, and does not impact ShopRites’ prepackaged ground meat products generally.

The specific ShopRite affected is located at 1255 W Landis Ave.

The recall was issued due to the possibility of small metal fragments in the ground beef believed to be the result of a machine malfunction in the grinder used to grind the meat up.  The recalled products include all store-made packages of 80, 85, and 93 percent lean ground beef, as ell as meatloaf mix, with a sell-by date of March 30, 2020.

No injuries have been reported due to recall yet.

The people who have purchased the product in the recall have been notified and will be refunded on their ShopRite card.   These shoppers have been asked to simply dispose of the product and should not return it to the store.

If any consumer purchased the product, but did not purchase the recalled product on a ShopRite card, they should call 1-877-627-2853 to receive a refund.
