On the 25th of January, 2023, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) published a recall by Snack Innovations Inc., of their Drizzilicious Mini Rice Cakes as well as Drizzled Popcorn products. The recall was prompted due to the packaging failing to declare the presence of Peanut Allergens in both the Drizzled Popcorn products and the Drizzilicious Mini Rice Cakes.

The Piscataway, New Jersey based company, Snack Innovations Inc., reported that the undeclared Peanut Allergens were discovered to be an issue when “our supplier notified us that they discovered undeclared peanut residue in one of the sub-ingredients used in the process of making our products.”

The complete list of recalled Snack Innovations Inc. products can be found below, with the Product Size, Flavor Lot Code, Best by Date and UPC- as listed on the official report by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

As advised by one National Food Poisoning Lawyer, Dr. Tony Coveny, individuals with Peanut allergies or sensitivities are “advised to avoid Snack Innovations recalled products, as reactions to Peanut allergies can cause diarrhea, vomiting, swelling of the throat, and in rare cases, anaphylaxis, which is often a life threatening, entire-body response to an allergen.”

Consumers with Peanut allergies or sensitivities are encouraged to discard the recalled Rice Cakes and Popcorn products, or return to the location of purchase for a complete refund.
