USDA Appoints New Members to Food Safety Advisory Committees

WASHINGTON, Aug. 19, 2020 – The U.S. Division of Agriculture (USDA) at the moment introduced the appointment of 10 new members to the Nationwide Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI) and an extra new member to the Nationwide Advisory Committee on Microbiological Standards for Meals (NACMCF).

Background:

NACMPI was established in 1971 by the USDA’s Meals Security and Inspection Service (FSIS). NACMPI is an advisory committee that advises on meals security issues and different issues affecting inspection program actions, together with meals security insurance policies that may contribute to USDA’s regulatory coverage improvement. NACMCF was established in 1988 by the USDA’s FSIS, the U.S. Division of Well being and Human Providers (Meals and Drug Administration and Facilities for Illness Management and Prevention), the Division of Commerce (Nationwide Marine Fisheries Service), and the U.S. Division of Protection. NACMCF is an advisory committee that gives neutral scientific recommendation and peer opinions to meals security businesses on public well being points associated to the security and wholesomeness of home, imported and exported meals.
