Updated Compliments and Levvitts Brand Listeria Recall
Earlier this month the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) issued a recall on several Levitts Foods (Canada) Inc. deli meats sold under the Levitts, Compliments, and The Deli-Shop brands. The initial recall, issued December 7th, was placed on several deli meat products due to the possibility of Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The additional recalled items are as follows:
Compliments (BEST BEFORE 2020/DE/11 EST 48)
Montreal-Style Smoked Meat (175g) UPC: 0 68820 13357 5
Levitts (BEST BEFORE 2020/DE/23 EST 48)
Corned Beef (150g) UPC: 8 82756 72084 1
New York Style Pastrami (150g) UPC: 8 82756 73084 0
Consumers are advised to not consume the deli meats. Dispose of any possibly contaminated items immediately or return them to the store of purchase. As of date, no illnesses have been reported in respect to the updated list of contaminated deli meats, however, there is one reported case believed to be linked with the initial recall on December 7th.
