Consumers should return the impacted item to the place of purchase for a refund or throw it away.
Health Risks
The company did not say if there have been reports of injuries in connection with consumption of the lead contaminated recalled product – but a national lead poisoning lawyer, Ron Simon, stated emphatically that there is no safe level of lead and affected children should be immediately tested a their pediatrician’s office.
Anyone who has been exposed to the product, and is experiencing illness or adverse reactions, should contact a medical provider immediately.
Elevation in lead can lead directly to decreased cognitive function, reduced IQ, difficulty in problem solving, reduced or stunted brain development or reduced neuroplasticity. Children are particularly vulnerable because their bodies absorb lead more readily than adults. As a result, elevations in anger, drug use, and even violent crime have been identified in those who suffer lead poisoning during formative years.
Commenting on this article, the nation’s leading food poisoning lawyer – and the attorney who has lead the charge in holding companies in recent imports of lead contamination liable, has said: “Because the recalled item is targeted at babies, I highly advise parents to search their homes for it. Lead exposure in children, especially babies, can be extremely dangerous and have long-lasting effects.”
