Goodie Girl Magical Animal Crackers Recalled for Potentially Containing Undeclared Wheat

As of September 11, 2020, Goodie Girl Tribeca LLC has declared a recall for 389 cases of Goodie Girl Magical Animal Crackers due to this product potentially containing undeclared wheat. This recall only applies to the 7 oz. cases with a Best By Date of January 11, 2021. This particular product was shipped throughout the United States, including Virginia, Pennsylvania, Georgia, New Hampshire, and California. While there has only been one reported case of an allergic reaction to wheat associated with this product, consumers with wheat allergies should check their pantries for this item and throw it away. Consumers should always pay close attention to ingredients and potential allergens listed on the packaging of their food, and report any allergic reactions they experience to the FDA.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), food allergies are of a growing concern in the United States, as 1 in 13 children are affected by them. The CDC goes on to explain that there is no known cure for food allergies, so those foods must simply be avoided by any who are allergic to them. Needless to say, it is often difficult or impossible to avoid such foods, especially when companies such as Goodie Girl Tribeca LLC fail to properly inform their customers of the ingredients contained in their products.

Food allergy severity and symptoms can vary greatly from person to person, and even throughout an individual’s life. While some allergic reactions may only show minor symptoms, some can cause Anaphylaxis, which is a severe reaction that can be deadly. It is because of this that all food brands must carefully list all ingredients and possible allergens contained or exposed to the product, and all consumers should carefully check these lists if they are at risk and report any allergic reactions they experience.

As stated by the food poisoning lawyers at Ron Simon & Associates, “Check to see if you have the recalled product in your home. Recalled products should be thrown out or returned to the store where they were purchased.”
