Oxnard, California – 10 de abril de 2025 – Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc. emite voluntariamente una advertencia preventiva sobre un lote de producción de palitos de apio Marketside de 4 pulgadas/1.6 oz, lavados y listos para consumir, con fecha de caducidad del 23/03/2025.

Este producto ha vencido su fecha de caducidad y ya no se encuentra en tiendas, pero es posible que los consumidores lo hayan congelado para su uso posterior.

Este aviso se inicia debido a la posibilidad de contaminación con Listeria monocytogenes. La posibilidad de contaminación se descubrió durante un muestreo aleatorio realizado por el Departamento de Agricultura de Georgia en una tienda de Georgia, donde una de varias muestras dio positivo.

Listeria monocytogenes es un microorganismo que puede causar infecciones graves, y en ocasiones mortales, en niños pequeños, personas frágiles o ancianas, y otras personas con sistemas inmunitarios debilitados. Aunque las personas sanas pueden presentar solo síntomas breves, como fiebre alta, dolor de cabeza intenso, rigidez, náuseas, dolor abdominal y diarrea, la infección por Listeria monocytogenes puede causar abortos espontáneos y muerte fetal en mujeres embarazadas.

Hasta la fecha, no se han reportado casos de enfermedad relacionados con este producto.

Los productos específicos involucrados vienen en 4 paquetes de apio Marketside de 4 pulgadas/1.6 oz, vendidos en tiendas Walmart, identificados con el código UPC 6 81131 16151 0 en la parte posterior de la bolsa, con fecha de caducidad del 23/03/2025 y el código de lote: P047650 en la parte frontal de la bolsa. Todos los productos potencialmente afectados han vencido su fecha de caducidad y ya no están a la venta.

Los consumidores que tengan este producto en su poder, incluso en su congelador, no deben consumirlo y desecharlo.

Este aviso voluntario no aplica a ningún otro producto elaborado bajo la marca Marketside o por Duda Farm Fresh Foods, Inc.
