Ron Simon & Associates have filed the first Aspen Salmonella Lawsuit against Koch Meat Co. and Kroger Co. on behalf of one of the victims of the Salmonella outbreak linked to consumption of Aspen Foods’ stuffed chicken Oven Cravers. The victim, Colleen Sappington, purchased and consumed an Aspen Foods’ Oven Craver frozen chicken entree in late June of this year and thereafter began to experience the symptoms of salmonellosis, including episodes of vomiting, abdominal cramping, diarrhea, headaches and fever. Epidemiologist Laura Cronquist, from the North Dakota Department of Health (NDDH), has confirmed that there is a fourth E. coli case linked to the E. coli outbreak at the Red River Valley Fair in West Fargo, ND. She also stated that the agency was not pinpointing the source, only noting that each of the victims, all under 18 years of age, attended the Red River Valley Fair. According to the Washington State Department of Health (WSDH) a large outbreak of Salmonella has been identified with 56 Salmonella victims in 8 counties. The majority of the 56 Salmonella victims are residents of King County, with 44 victims identified in in and around Seattle. But there are also 4 victims in Snohomish County, 2 victims each in Mason and Thurston Counties, and 1 victim in each of Pierce, Grays Harbor, Yakima, and Clark Counties. Another Escherichia coli, or STEC, outbreak at another State Fair is being reported. This time the E. coli outbreak has been linked to the Red River Valley Fair in eastern North Dakota, having been traced there after three children developed E. coli. The North Dakota Division of Disease Control (NDDDC) reports that it is still investigating, but suspects that animals may play a part in the outbreak. Once again, a California company is recalling imported frozen tuna due to Salmonella contamination. This time it’s Osamu Corporation of Gardena, CA who is recalling Frozen Yellow Fin Tuna Chunk Meat (Lot #68568 and shipped in late May of 2015) which was distributed to the AFC Corporation, a California company out of Rancho Dominquez, CA. Minnesota health officials have announced two outbreaks of salmonella, both linked to frozen, raw chicken products. The investigation, being led by the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) is complicated by the fact that there are two separate outbreaks of two separate strains of Salmonella bacteria in products from two separate producers. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is currently investigating at least two outbreaks of Salmonella illnesses linked to the consumption of stuffed chicken products that are sold as breaded and pre-browned, but essentially still raw and that require cooking. The findings of the State of Minnesota Departments of Health and Agriculture, in coordination with local and state health officials, led to the public health alert. The Sunny Side Childcare Center, located at 3874 S Court St Montgomery, AL 36105 (the other location, on Norman Bridge Road seems unaffected at present), is at the center of an outbreak that has sickened at least 60 kids, with literally dozens of children going to Montgomery hospitals, this according to State Health Officer, Dr. Don Williamson. The Boise Co Op Salmonella Claim Center at Ron Simon & Associates is currently taking calls from the many victims of salmonella food poisoning who ate food from the Boise Co Op – either at the main store or through one of its airport kiosks.
